NAOWA President donates foodstuffs, cash to widows in Jos

PRESIDENT of Nigerian Army Officers Wives’ Association, NAOWA, Mrs Mariya Lagbaja, has donated foodstuffs and cash to spouses of fallen heroes in the 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lagbaja presented the items to the beneficiaries on Thursday in Jos.
The NAOWA president, who was emotional during the event, said that the gesture was aimed at cushioning their current hardship owing to the death of their spouses.
She further stated that the gesture was part of NAOWA’s mandate toward alleviating the sufferings of the less-privileged.
”It is with a heavy heart, full of empathy and compassion, that we are making these contributions today.
”It is part of our mandate to do this and we are donating these little token to you. I remain committed to the plight of all widows.
”You are not alone in this struggle; we are with you in the journey. We will continue to advocate for your welfare at all times,” she said.
NAN reports that the items donated included: bags of rice, beans, garri, cooking oil, salt and seasoning, among others. (NAN)
