The Chairman of the committee, Mr Musa Gude, gave the commendation on Friday when six contractors handling various roads and other projects across the state appeared before the committee in Lafia.
Gude, who represents Uke/Karshi Constituency said that the road projects, if completed, would improve the standard of living of the people of the state.
” And this will also create job opportunities, enhance socio-economic development of the state and improve the revenue base of the state” he said.
The lawmaker said that the invitation extended to the contractors was to get more information on the work done so far by them.
“With the view of assisting where necessary and ensuring that the needful is done for the overall development of the state” he said.
Gude commended some of the contractors for doing good jobs and urged them to ensure that they delivered quality work that would stand the test of time.
” Some of the contractors have no problems, they are doing good work and we urge them to ensure that they deliver quality work at the end of the day.
” What we want is quality work” he said, assuring the contractors of the committee’s support to succeed.
” I want to assure that contractors that have challenges, we will see how we can come and intervene to overcome their problems.
” Because what we want is the progress and development of our dear state so that our people will continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy” Gude said.
He appreciated the Speaker of the house, Mr Danladi Jatau, for his all-inclusive and purposeful leadership.
On their parts, members of the committee, Suleiman Azara, Daniel Ogazi, Jacob Kudu, Hudu Alhaji and Dr Peter Akwe, all urged the contractors to adhere strictly to their projects’ specifications.
