Nasarawa CAN inaugurates Awe’s new EXC0

THE Nasarawa branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria on Monday inaugurated a new executive committee (EXCO) for the Awe chapter to pilot its affairs for the next five years.
The state Chairman of the association, Rev. Sunday Emmah, performed the inauguration at Awe Local Government headquarters.
Emmah charged the new EXCO to uphold and defend the constitution and rules of the association.
He said: “I want to advise you to adhere strictly to biblical teachings and the constitution of the association.
“You should ensure justice, fairness and transparency, while discharging your duties.”
Also, the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isah Abubakar, urged the new officials to work hard towards strengthening the existing peace and unity among the people of the area and the state at large.
Abubakar, represented by Wambai of Awe, Alhaji Baba Ibrahim, also called on the officials to provide inclusive leadership.
Responding, the new Chairman of the body, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Soja- Anyembugu, thanked God and members of the association for a successful election.
Soja- Anyembugu, who is the Priest in-charge of St John Catholic Church, Awe, pledged his continuous commitment toward peace and unity among the people of the area.
“I will ensure justice, transparency and rule with the fear of God,” he said.
He solicited the support of all and sundry to succeed.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that other officials included Rev. Saminu Dibamasu (Vice Chairman), Pastor Peter Benjamin (Secretary General), Mr Francis Ewuga (Assistant Secretary) and Rev. Awitsi Thomas (Financial Secretary).
Others were Rev. Dogara Joseph (Treasurer), Mrs Esther Joseph (WOWICAN Chairperson) and Mr Joseph Musa (YOWICAN Chairman). ( NAN)
