MEMBER representing Lafia North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Esson Mairiga, says that he has drilled more than 15 boreholes in his constituency within nine months in office.
This, he said, was to boost water supply in his constituency.
Mairiga (PDP, Lafia North) stated this when he received an Award of Excellence from a group, “Hon Daniel Ogazi Support Group Shabu”, on Wednesday in Lafia
The lawmaker re-affirmed his total commitment to justify his stewardship and deliver on his campaign promises.
Mairiga, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, has called on the people of Lafia North constituency and the State at large to give their maximum support to Gov . Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
He also called on the people to continue to pray and support the Speaker of the state legislature, Mr Danladi Jatau, and other leaders at various levels to succeed on the task ahead of them.
The lawmaker said that the time for politicking has passed, and now is the time for governance, hence the need for the people of the state to support Gov. Sule, the Speaker and other leaders to succeed.
“I am overwhelmed with this award as this will spur me to do more in service to humanity.
“I want to thank you for identifying with me and for acknowledging my achievements in office within nine months.
“Within nine months, I have drilled more than 15 boreholes across communities in Lafia North constituency, and I have given jobs and empowerment, among others
“By God’s grace, I will continue to initiate good policies and programmes that will bring more dividends of democracy to our people,” he said.
Mairiga said that Gov Sule has done much to ensure that peace reigned in the state.
He assured of good and quality representation at the state legislature.
The lawmaker urged the people of Lafia North to continue to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their political affiliations.
Also Speaking, Mr Yahuza Adamu, the Overseer of Lafia North Development Area, appreciated Mairiga for his efforts in developing the constituency.
He also assured the lawmaker of their prayers and support at all times to succeed.
Earlier, the Chairman, Hon Daniel Ogazi Support Group Shabu, Mr Mohammed Nasiru, said that the visit was to appreciate the lawmaker for his purposeful representation and assured him of their loyalty and support to succeed.
“We are also here to present you an award of Excellence over your achievements in office so far.
“We are proud of you and your achievements, hence the need for the award,” he said.
Mohammed urged Mairiga to continue to remain focused, adding that the sky will not just be his limit but the starting point.
The Chairman assured the lawmaker of their loyalty, prayers and support to succeed. (NAN)
