National Assembly Passes 2017 Budget

FIVE months after President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2017 Budget to the National Assembly, both the Senate and the House of Representatives have passed it today. The initial budget which was presented to them in December 14, 2016, was N7.298 trillion.
However, the Committee on Appropriation headed by Senator Danjuma Goje increased it to 7.441tn, with N2.9tn appropriated for recurrent expenditure, and N2.1tn as the contribution to the development fund for Capital expenditure exclusive of capital expenditure in statutory transfers.
