THE Society of Women Accountants (SWAN) on Tuesday congratulated former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mrs Comfort Eyitayo, on her conferment with Nigeria’s national honour.
Mrs Catherine Nnaji, National Chairperson, SWAN, in a congratulatory message to Eyitayo, said the Honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) was well deserved.
“It is with great joy and excitement that we received the notification of your conferment with the National Honours in the rank of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Judging by your antecedents, it is no surprise that you are conferred with such a prestigious honour because you have always been a great achiever and your legacies of diligence, hard work and integrity speaks for you,” Nnaji said.
According to her, Eyitayo left an indelible foot print of sustainable achievements during her impactful and resourceful tenure as the 57th ICAN President.
Nnaji listed some of Eyitayo’s achievements to include the comprehensive rebranding of ICAN with the change in Logo and facelift of three major seats of operational offices of the institute located at Victoria Island, Ebute Metta and Abuja.
She said Eyitayo also initiated the innovation of ICAN TV, tagged ‘ICAN on Air’, and engineered the collaboration between ICAN and the Bank of Industry to have a world class ICAN- BOI Innovation plus.
The SWAN president also said that Eyitayo similarly built the ICAN Entrepreneurship Centre to promote entrepreneurship initiative. (NAN)
