NBA-LOAN joint committee to tackle lawyers’ challenges

RAPULU Nduka, National Publicity Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), says the association has initiated efforts to tackle challenges of lawyers in the discharge of their duties.

Nduka told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos that the association had set up a Joint Working Committee of the NBA and Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN) to address the challenges.

He said the committee would be inaugurated next week.

He said that the committee would address issues peculiar to law officers in respect of the activities of the NBA and welfare.

The NBA President, Mr Olumide Akpata, had in a meeting with the leadership of LOAN, promised to look into lawyers’ welfare with a view to improving it.

According to Akpata, members of the committee are to investigate the peculiar issues affecting law officers in Nigeria and make appropriate recommendations to NBA.

The NBA president urged all lawyers to co-operate with the committee.
