NCC, NITDA, ISOC to Attend 2015 DigitalSENSE Forum

The 2015 DigitalSENSE forum on “Internet Governance for Development” will hold from June 4 to 5 at the Airport Hotel, Lagos, will see prominent Nigerians and companies in the information communication technology sector attending
THE 2015 annual Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development and Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable, is gathering momentum. The forum is being supported by the Nigerian Communications Commission, National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, and the Nigeria’s chapter of the Internet Society, ISOC, among others.
Confirming this in Lagos, Nkemdilim Nweke, executive director, Operations at DigitalSENSE Africa Media and other organisers of the two-day forum and exhibitions slated for June 4 to 5, said the event would hold at the Welcome Centre Hotel, Muritala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
She also said that the theme of this year forum promises to be both exciting and educative, explaining that Day One of the event would dwell on “Net Neutrality and Nigerian Internet Users,” while Day Two which is the Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable hosted in commemoration of the World IPV6 Day 2015 comes with the theme: Taking Advantage of Broadband for IPV6 Penetration.
According to her, Tunji Olaopa, ministry of communication technology, would be accompanied by Peter Jack, director-general of NITDA, and Eugene Juwah, executive vice chairman of NCC, in declaring the event officially open in the morning of the first day.
While Jack is also expected to present position paper on NITDA’s intervention on regulation of ICT hardware in the country and day one theme, Juwah will lead discussions alongside the president of ISOC Nigeria, Gladomenico Massari, chief engineer, to x-ray the theme for day two alongside Muhammed Rudman.
She called on corporate industry players to take advantage of this event to engage stakeholder, especially the community-based organisations, youths, students and women, in the usage of Internet.
Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development is on its seventh year and has been a rallying point for Internet Stakeholders in the country since 2009.
Reputedly organised by DigitalSENSE Africa Media, publishers of DigitalSENSE Business News, ITRealms and NaijaAgroNet; a certified At-Large Structure of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, ICANN, At-Large advisory committee worldwide that deals with individual Internet users’ interests.
