THE Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and zero tolerance for misconduct within its ranks.
Acting Controller General, NCoS, Mr Sylvester Nwakuche made this clear during his maiden interactive session with field officers on Monday in Abuja.
Nwakuche stressed that discipline was crucial to any organisation’s success, and the NCoS would maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards any actions that compromise its values.
The NCoS boss warned that any officer found wanting would face the full wrath of the law, regardless of their position or influence.
“This administration will maintain zero tolerance to acts that compromise the sanctity of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
“While promising fair treatment for all alleged wrongdoings, I will ensure that the discipline unit is re-calibrated and empowered to speedily try cases.
“Any officer found wanting will face the full wrath of the law, no matter whose ox is gored. We won’t allow a few bag eggs to spoil the majority. I urge you to cooperate with me on this,” he maintained.
The Ag. CG urged officers to cooperate with him in maintaining discipline and upholding the integrity of the NCoS.
Nwakuche also encouraged the officers not to give up in the face of challenges, saying “when things seem impossible, know that anything is possible if we keep going.”
He emphasised the importance of perseverance, saying “as a Service, we must refuse to quit and soldier on, knowing that strength is formed in our struggles.”
The NCoS boss appreciated the entire body of staff for their resilience despite working in a challenging environment.
He encouraged everyone to remain focused as better days were ahead while calling upon them to join hands with him in this journey of transformation.
“Your commitment, discipline and integrity will be the bedrock of our success. Let us work together to restore the pride and honours of the Nigerian Correctional Service,” Nwakuche said. (NAN)
