THE Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Kano/Jigawa Area  Command says it is strengthening its collaboration with the police to fight crime and promote a secure environment for trade and investment.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr Saidu Nuruddeen, in Kano on Thursday.

He quoted Comptroller Dauda Chana as reiterating the command’s commitment to partnering with other security agencies during a visit by AIG Ari Ali.

He said Chana emphasised the importance of synergy among government agencies, citing revenue collection, anti-smuggling, and trade facilitation as key areas requiring cooperation.

Chana advised traders and travellers to familiarise themselves with import and export guidelines to avoid seizures and penalties.

Nuruddeen also quoted Ali as praising Chana’s revenue collection and anti-smuggling efforts, he said were protecting the economy and citizens’ well-being. (NAN)
