NDE begins training of 400 youths on skills acquisition in Kano

THE Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Kano state has begun training of 400 unemployed youths on skills acquisition and sustenable agricultural development training scheme.
The state NDE Coordinator, Alhaji Iliyasu Ahmed disclosed this while flagging-off the training programme in Kano on Tuesday.
He said out of the 400 youths, 350 would be trained on carpentry, bricks laying, barbing, Knitting and tailoring while the remaining 50 would be trained on Sustainable agricultural production.
He said the training was part of renewed effort to fight unemployment especially among graduates and others who have not had the opportunity of attaining owestern education.
He said the initiative was also intended to make the beneficiaries self-reliant for the development of the state and the country at large.
The coordinator called on the well-to-do persons in the state to complement government’s effort by creating job opportunities for the unemployed youths.
“The task of providing jobs requires collaborative effort. Private sector has to contribute its quota to check the increasing rate of unemployment in the country,”he said.
Earlier in his remarks, the NDE Director General, Dr Nasir Muhammad-Ladan represented by an Assistant Director, Malam Sani Malumfashi, advised the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity provided them by the Federal Government to be self-reliant as the white color jobs are no longer obtainable in the country.
“You are advised to make use of the opportunity as you are selected from among many others who were not lucky to be here for the training programme, “he said.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen at the venue of the training programme commended the Federal Government for sustaining the empowerment programme of agency. -NAN
