THE National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has officially registered the Nery Developmental Initiative, NDI, as a collaborating Non-Governmental Organization, NGO, in the fight against drug abuse and illicit substance use.

In a letter dated February 21, 2025, addressed to NDI’s Founder and Executive Director, Amb. Chika Rita Ezenwa, the NDLEA confirmed the organization’s approval under registration number NDLEA/NGO/188/2025.

The registration recognises NDI’s commitment to drug demand reduction, reinforcing its role in advocacy, awareness campaigns, and rehabilitation efforts.

The Deputy Commander General of Narcotics, Ngozi Anthonia Madubuike, who signed the letter on behalf of the NDLEA Chairman/CEO, outlined key guidelines, including the submission of quarterly activity reports and periodic agency visits to assess progress.

Ezenwa welcomed the endorsement, emphasizing that NDI remains steadfast in its mission to combat drug abuse through strategic partnerships, policy advocacy, and community outreach programmes.

With this milestone, NDI is set to expand its interventions, working alongside the NDLEA to stem the tide of substance abuse and promote healthier communities.
