Worried by spate of youth restiveness in Anambra, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, enjoined youths to shun all forms of social vices and deviant behaviours.

Chinwe Thompson, principal staff officer, Drug Demand Reduction Unit of the Agency, gave the advice at Anaku, Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state while addressing the youths in the council area.

Thompson cautioned hard drug peddlers and those patronising them to refrain from it as government would deal decisively with anybody caught in the act.

“It makes those that indulge in it to be lazy and useless in life,” Thompson said.

She, however, appealed to parents to train their children in the way of God to enable their children to stay fixed to such right path.

While encouraging unemployed youths to take advantage of ongoing skills acquisition programme of the state government to be gainfully employed, she added that such could also take their minds away from crime.
