NEC meeting of Ohanaeze Ndigbo reaffirms commitment to its Constitution

THE National Executive Committee, NEC, of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide held a meeting on December 4, 2024, at its national secretariat in Enugu and reaffirmed its commitment to the constitution of group.   

According to the statement by the group, the meeting, which was presided over by Ambassador Okey Emuchay, was well-attended.

It added that during the meeting, the NEC observed a minute’s silence in honour of the recently deceased Igbo personalities, including Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Ogbonnaya Onu.

The meeting also expressed satisfaction with the administrative capacity of the Secretary-General, Ambassador Okey Emuchay, and passed a vote of confidence in his leadership.

Furthermore, the NEC stated that the next President-General of Ohanaeze should come from Rivers State in line with the provisions of its constitution.  

The meeting also resolved that Emuchay should convene a meeting of Imeobi Ohanaeze to set up an electoral umpire for the 2025 Ohanaeze election.

Emuchay thanked Igbo people for their support and appealed for understanding, assuring that the January 2025 election would be a huge success.
