Netherlands extends entry ban for UK, S. Africa, others until April 1
Foreign
In late December, the Netherlands imposed a ban on passenger flights from the UK and South Africa due to the spread of new SARS-CoV-2 variants of coronavirus.
“Both bans will remain in place until April 1, 2021,” the statement said.
In December, the UK informed the World Health Organisation of a mutated variant of SARS-CoV-2, which is reported to be 70 percent more transmissible than other coronavirus variants.
Another mutated variant of the infection was detected in South Africa at approximately the same time. (Sputnik/NAN)
