MAGNUS Ngei Abe, the senator representing Rivers South-East district in the National Assembly, has debunked reports on social media that made comments on the clash between Governor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of Transportation.

Abe, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt by Parry Saroh Benson, his spokesperson, said it was important to allow the authorities concerned to carry out proper investigation into the matter.

The senator said: “My attention has been drawn to a false statement credited to me concerning what happened in Port Harcourt on Saturday. Let me say clearly that I have made no comment on the matter and I will make none.

“It’s important that we curtail undue sensationalism and allow the authorities concerned to carry out a proper investigation into the incident.

“Let me use this opportunity to urge the public to view statements from unverifiable sources with suspicion and to refrain from sharing and circulating such materials.”
