THE Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it has fulfilled 85 percent of its supply target, based on hours of supply under the new service-based tariff regime.

Mr Ibrahim Shawai, Head of Corporate Communications of the company gave the clarification in a statement on Monday in Kano.

Shawai said base on various tariff bands, KEDCO had delivered the stipulated hours of supply per band.

He explained that the management had decided to give customers 100 percent satisfaction.

“KEDCO is working to ensure we meet the remaining 15 percent supply target as we further improve on our service delivery,” he said.

The spokesman added that customers should reciprocate the gesture and respect their own side of the deal by paying for what they consume to sustain the improvement.

Shawai also quoted Mr. Jamil Gwanna, the Managing Director of the company as saying that the management of the improved supply per hour was evidence of the company’s efforts to give customers value for money under the new regime.

“As a responsible organisation, the best we can deliver at a time like this is to make our customers smile and it is in that spirit we appeal to them to collect their meters from any of our offices to assist KEDCO to end the era of estimated billing,’’ he said. (NAN)
