Newly appointed Theatre Commander assumes duty in Borno

Maj. -Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the newly appointed Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, has assumed duty in Maiduguri.

Speaking shortly after taking over on Saturday in Maiduguri, Ali expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for appointing him as the theater commander.

“I have just takenover and studying the situation on ground for now.

“From what the outgoing theatre commander told me,I have enough to start off on ground.

“He has done well, we will consolidate and add on what he has done,” Ali said.

In his farewell address to troops, the outgoing theatre commander,  Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa, lauded the COAS for giving him the opportunity to serve.

Musa thanked officers and soldiers of the theatre for their support and urged them to extend same to his successor.

“I want to thank all officers and soldiers, members of the media, the community, government and people of Borno for all the support, prayers and cooperation received throughout my stay.

“The successes achieved is not my success alone but for all as we all contributed,” Musa said.
Musa said that since the fight against Boko Haram terrorists was not over, there was need for more commitment for ensure total peace in North East and Nigeria at large. (NAN)
