Nibo monarch celebrates 2018 New Yam in grand style

Igwe Michael Chukwuemeka Ngene (Ezeike the IV), the traditional ruler of Nibo, has performed this year’s New Yam festival in his Nibo palace.

The monarch used the occasion to thank God for bountiful harvest and prayed for sustained harvest in the community.

Eze Ngene showered royal blessings on his subjects, while stressing that he expected love and peace to reign in the community.

The royal father spoke on the significance of the new yam festival celebrated across the Igboland and the need for Ndi Igbo to sustain their rich cultural heritage.

Eze Ngene said he appreciated visits of some of the state’s royal fathers that graced the occasion.

The monarch that joined him in the celebration include Traditional Rulers of Mbaukwu, Igwe Peter Anugwu and Obi Gibson Nwosu of Awka Kingdom.

Others are Igwe Romanus Iloh (Nise), Igwe Joel Egwuonwu (Umuawulu) and Igwe Timothy Ezenwaka of Ezinato.

The rest are Igwe Sunday Okafor (Okpuno), Igwe George Okaa Onwuogu (Nawgu), Igwe Christopher Okpala (Akwaeze) and Igwe Mbamalu Okeke of Abagana.
