NIDCOM boss hails Gov. Sanwo-Olu for establishing Diaspora agency I Lagos

ABIKE Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, has applauded the gesture of Governor Babajide  Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state for establishing a full-fledged Diaspora office in the state to take care of the interests and welfare of the indigenes in the diaspora.

In a congratulatory letter to Gov. Sanwo-Olu, she said the establishment of

the office would further engender closer relationship and fast track  development in the state with its diaspora.

Àccording to her, Lagos has joined the league of states like Abia, which has a Diaspora Commission, Ondo and Anambra have full Commissioners for Diaspora, while Edo and Cross Rivers are in the process of setting up their diaspora agencies.

Every state of the federation has a diaspora focal person.

The NIDCOM boss urged other states to give priority to diaspora affairs as every state has its indigenes abroad excelling in one way or the other and willing to contribute to the state and national development.

She therefore congratulates Gov. Sanwo-Olu, and the State Diaspora Focal Person, Jermaine Sanwo-Olu, who will be the pioneer head of the Agency.
