THE Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has urged Muslims to remain steadfast and imbibe the culture of honesty and peaceful coexistence.

The advice is contained in his Eid-el Kabir message signed by his Information Officer, Mr Lawal Tanko, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Minna.

He implored the people of the state to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and security of lives and property.

Usman called on Muslims to use the teachings of Eid-el Kabir to promote love, harmony and peaceful co-existence.

He noted that love, loyalty and sacrifice were the hallmarks of the festival, urging the Muslim faithful to continue to uphold the lessons even after the festival.

The statement quoted the SSG as saying that the Niger government led by Gov. Umar Bago was committed to the progress and development of the state.

“There is the need for Niger residents to support the programmes and policies of government designed to better the living standard of the populace.

“The Muslim faithful and adherents of other faiths must strive to live peacefully with one another. We must unite and work together to build a peaceful and prosperous state.” (NAN)
