NIGER State Universal Basic Education Board is unhappy about shoddy jobs executed by contractors handling primary schools projects in the state in the past.
Its chairman, Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim, gave a hint at this in Minna on Saturday while monitoring the 2022 Unified Common Entrance Examination for Primary Six pupils.
The board’s Public Relations officer, Mr Idris Kolo, stated in Minna on Sunday that Ibrahim promised to engage the contractors on the need to adhere strictly to specifications in future jobs.
He commended the process and conduct of the examination, especially the sitting arrangement for the candidates and urged schools’ managements to curtail examination malpractice.
The chairman also urged schools managements to ensure integrity in the marking of the examination scripts so as to produce graduates capable of competing with their counterparts from private schools.
The Unified Common Entrance Examination is conducted annually by the board.
A total of 63,200 pupils registered for the 2022 examination across the 25 local government areas of the state. (NAN)
