GOV. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, has urged  Nigerians to embark on consistent prayer as potent weapon to surmounting the nation’s challenges.

Idris stated this in Birnin Kebbi in his anniversary message to the people of Kebbi on the occasion of  Nigeria’s 64th independence celebration.

He noted that no problem would remain insurmountable, hence the need for Nigerians, irrespective of their faiths, continue to pray fervently.

The governor urged them to prioritise national unity, social cohesion and harmonious coexistence to strengthen bond of relationships amongst themselves.

He urged citizens to build upon the legacies of the nation’s founding fathers of hard work, truthfulness, patriotism and love for one another.

He said, “We are stronger in unity, our prosperity is to uphold togetherness and ensure that we keep Nigeria as a single indivisible entity.”

Idris recalled the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers in securing the nation’s independence in 1960.

According to him, the best way to enjoy these sacrifices is to remain committed to a united Nigeria where all citizens are equal.

He urged Nigerians to reflect on the contributions of “our founding fathers like Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sir Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, whose efforts laid the foundation for Nigeria’s freedom.”

Idris also stressed that justice, fairness, and equity were key to Nigeria’s development.

He thanked the people of Kebbi for their continued support to his administration to bolster security and development.

The governor called for patience and patriotism as Nigerians work together towards a brighter and prosperous future. (NAN)
