Nigeria at 62: Kaduna NSCDC felicitates with residents, assures of security

COMMANDANT of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna State Command Idris Adah on Friday felicitated with the government and residents of the state as the nation marks it’s 62 years of independence.
A statement in Kaduna by the NSCDC Kaduna Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Habeeb Badamasi, said the Commandant assured the residents of adequate security during and after the Independence celebrations.
Adah called on the residents not to lose confidence and hope in security agencies, but continue to support them with useful information on the whereabouts of criminal elements threatening the peace of the state and North-West region.
He said the Command was working in synergy with other security agencies in confronting threats such as banditry, kidnapping, abduction and open to support from the public on ways to improve the security situation.
He said the command was also working relentlessly with support of the Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, whose administration had supported the Command recently with new operational vehicles.
He said vehicles were deployed for improved response to distress calls code named Quick Response Squad.
He also appreciated the State Government for logistics and other forms of support given to the command, assuring of improved security situation in the state.
“The Command remains resolute in the fight against vandalism, destruction of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, agricultural and agro-allied investments and human rights abuse among others,” he said.
He cautioned aggrieved persons against taking laws into their hands, but enjoined them to report to agencies saddled with responsibilities of investigation, mediation and settling of conflicts.
“Let us make the celebration of this 62nd independence anniversary peaceful, in doing so, youths must be guided in their conducts and parents as well as guardian should monitor the whereabouts of their children and wards,” he cautioned.
On the 2023 general elections, the Commandant assured of neutrality on the part of the Corps.
He called on politicians with their supporters, to eschew violence and avoid heating the polity by playing the game according to its laid down rules.(NAN)
