THE Badminton Federation of Nigeria, BFN, has said that it would participate in the first International Para-badminton championship holding in Uganda from April 25 to April 30. Bello Oyebanji, para-badminton coach, who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Thursday, April 20, said the teams that won the para-badminton national championship last year in Umuahia, Abia State, would participate in the international championship holding in Kampala.

“The national championship was used for qualification to the first international para-badminton championship. All the teams that won in each category are expected to participate in the championship in Uganda. We have written to their state governments for sponsorship. For now, Kaduna, Imo and Kwara are ready for the championship. Hopefully we will be leaving for Uganda on April 24,’’ he said.

He said that the teams would meet in Lagos, to train for a few days before their departure, all things being equal.
