ABIODUN Adejola, Nigeria’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations office in Geneva has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on Nigeria’s election as a regular member of the governing body of the International Labour Organisation, ILO.

In a letter written to the office of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, dated June 23, Adejola said: “I warmly congratulate his excellency on the election of Nigeria as a regular member of the ILO Governing Body for 2021-2024 session.

“Indeed, this election and elevation from the status of a deputy member to becoming a regular member of the executive decision and policymaking organ of the ILO demonstrates the sterling leadership of Nigeria as a regional voice and dependable ally on labour and industrial relations diplomacy in Africa.

“Be assured that the Permanent Mission in Geneva will continue to provide necessary support to you and the Social Partners, Nigerian Employers and Workers, throughout the duration of Nigeria’s tenure.

“Please accept, honourable minister, my warm personal congratulations and the assurances of my highest esteem,” the ambassador said in the letter.
