Nigeria Olympic Committee Athlete Commission to propose health insurance schemes to FG

THE Nigeria Olympic Committee Athlete Commission rising from its Athletes Forum on Wednesday in Abuja, has mandated its leadership to as a matter of urgency propose a suitable health insurance schemes to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development with emphasis on the importance of such policy on national athletes.

In a five-paragraph communique issued at the end of the Forum on July 10, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja, the forum also demanded that the leadership should request the participation of the Athletes Commission at the forthcoming National Youth Games in making sure that the young Nigerian athletes in the area of education and advocacy.

The Olympic Committee Athlete Commission expressed their appreciation to the Nigeria Olympic Committee for her continuous support towards the Nigeria Athletes Commission.

 It also looked forward to working on the improved relationship with the Federation and Elite Athletes Department (FEAD) of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development following their continuous presence during her activities, according to
