Nigerian Chief of Army Staff Escapes Assassination

Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, has escaped an attempt to assassinate him.

The incident took place I Zaria, Kaduna State, a top source in the Nigerian Army told News Express. The source blamed the incident on the Shiite Islamic group which has its national headquarters in Zaria.

“Shiites attempted to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff in Zaria,” the source said.

Details are expected later from military authorities
