A Nigerian model, Harry Uzoka, 25, was stabbed to death by a rival model, George Koh, after being taunted that his killer had slept with his model girlfriend, a court heard.
Uzoka was stabbed in the heart after the IMG model, Koh, 24, boasted in Instagram messages that he had slept with his girlfriend, jurors were told, the Mirror UK reported.
Koh was obsessed with Mr Uzoka’s success and told French model Anna Cetta Lafon he had slept with Mr Uzoka’s girlfriend Ruby Campbell, the Old Bailey heard.
Koh also claimed his now deceased rival was a “bad man and a liar.”
The court heard that after being told of the claims by Ms. Lafon, the pair arranged a confrontation in Shepherd’s Bush in west London, on the afternoon of Thursday, January 11 this year.
But Koh and pals Jonathan Arinze, 24, and Merse Dikanda, 24, had armed themselves with at least two knives and a machete, it was said.
Uzoka’s and flatmate Adrian Harper armed themselves with dumbbell bars for the brawl but after realising they were outnumbered they tried to run away.
Uzoka was chased and cornered around a parked car by the trio before Koh allegedly stabbed him three times, including once to the heart.
Wounded Mr Uzoka stumbled towards his Shepherd’s Bush home but collapsed and died on the pavement outside, it was said.
Prosecutor Richard Horwell QC told the jury: “Harry Uzoka was a well known and successful model with a bright future ahead of him.
“This celebrity status is relevant because it is that part of his life that brought him into contact with George Koh.
“Koh was also a model, but not as successful as Uzoka, they were occupational acquaintances but certainly not friends.
“Koh claimed that he knew Uzoka well and said that he had had sex with Uzoka’s girlfriend and that was the reason why the two men no longer talked.
Jurors heard Mr. Uzoka’s girlfriend, Ruby Campbell, was also a model and was out of the country working first in Los Angeles and then in Sweden. – Punch
