THE importance of individual and collective efforts in promoting Nigeria’s image and strength on the global stage has been emphasized. As the country’s first ambassadors, citizens have a crucial role to play in enhancing the nation’s reputation and perception among other nations.
The post by the Nigeria Immigration Service on its handle on X @nigimmigration on 11th June 2024 was responding to Ade of Nigeria @Hammdriller Publicinsing on his trips to over 30 countries, most of which were African countries with his Nigerian passport without any issues.
The post read, “Louder, for those at the back. The strength of our passport and how we are perceived within the comity of nations, amongst other factors (emphasis), largely depends on you and I. We are the first ambassadors of our country!
Nigeria will be great, but first, we all must play our parts individually and collectively!”
According to the NIS, Irregular migration, human trafficking, cultism, drug peddling and other vices that tarnish Nigeria’s image have been strongly advised against. Instead, citizens are encouraged to strive for excellence and showcase the country’s positive attributes.
The message emphasizes that Nigeria’s greatness depends on the collective efforts of its citizens, both at home and abroad. By playing their parts individually and collectively, Nigerians can contribute to a stronger, more respected nation.
In summary, the post urges Nigerians to recognize their role as ambassadors and work together to promote a positive image of the country, rejecting harmful vices and striving for excellence.
