USTAZ Musa Dau’d, the National Coordinator of Islamic Family Foundation (IFF), has called on Muslim faithful to use the night of power (Lailatul Qadr) to intensify worship and pray for the nation.
Dau’d made the call on Monday night at the 2018 Lailatul Qadr prayer session of the foundation in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Lailatul Qadr night in Islam is the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad and observed in the last 10 days of the Ramadan.
The cleric said that the Lailatul Qadr night, also referred to as night of power, night of decree or night of majesty, is better than a thousand months in terms of answering of prayers and forgiveness from Allah.
“ I enjoin all Muslims to take advantage of this night to supplicate to Allah because of the abundance of blessing and mercy of Allah in it.
“This is the night that sins are forgiven, supplications accepted and the annual decree is revealed to angels who also descend to the earth,” he said.
Dau’d said that the foundation as a matter of tradition observes the last 10 days of every Ramadan with prayers and lecture on the importance of the night and general need to be pious and prayerful.
He urged Muslims across the country to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and its leaders while also working hard to contribute positively to the development of the nation.
Dau’d also called on the Federal and state governments to focus more on education, health, job creation and poverty alleviation for the masses in order to develop the nation.
NAN reports that the occasion was attended by Muslim faithful and Islamic organisations from all walks of life
