NIKON concluded two consecutive, successful events celebrating photography and its facets in Nigeria. The Nikon Photo and Video Summit concluded on May 31, 2018 and saw a scintillating line-up of events, panels and workshops. The programme took place at the Welcome Centre and Hotels, Ikeja in Nigeria.

On the other hand, Nikon Social –The fashion chapter, was hosted at the beautiful Radisson Blu hotel in Lagos, Nigeria on June 1.

A regionally successful programme launched by Nikon MEA back in 2016, Nikon Social is a unique set of events created to hone the skills of aspiring bloggers, Social Media influencers and online content creators themed around various topics like food, fashion, travel, fitness or beauty. Specially designed to be as intimate as they are informative each chapter is led by influencers who are at the fore front of online publishing and who help deliver heaps of information and knowledge both technical and soft skills to the aspiring participants.

With Nigeria’s ace fashion photographer at the helm, Kelechi’s workshop was the perfect way for those looking to capture the world of haute couture and beauty. He offered valuable advice on the technicalities and art of capturing iconic moments in fashion.  As our environment evolves, so must our mediums of expression. With the rise of online influencers, the need to create quality visual content is crucial. Nikon school instructor Cesar Parroco had the rapt attention of the participants. He imparted valuable information on tricks of the trade and technical knowledge that is sure to catapult them to fame.

The Summit was followed by the Nikon Social in Lagos with Brett Florens. Florens not only shared his invaluable insight into the professional sphere but also spoke on the importance of education in the photography industry. The event follows Nikon’s intensive program that allows online influencers to augment their visual content by creating images that perfectly complement their niche. The intimate workshop module has been designed to equip bloggers and online content creators with the requisites of the visual medium. The Nigeria chapter of the Nikon Social focused on exploring fashion photography in all its glamour. The three-hour masterclass used Nikon D3400 and D5600 as its primary tool of expression.
