Don Adinuba, commissioner of information, Anambra State, has confirmed that nine suspected attackers of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, have been nabbed in Anambra State.
Realnews reports that three policemen were gunned down while unknown assailants invaded a venue where Soludo was addressing youths in his hometown in Isuofia in Anambra State in March.
Governor Willie Obiano had earlier today spoken about the arrest at Prof Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre in Awka, saying that the suspects will be eliminated.
But Adinuba clarified that by elimination the governor meant that once the suspects were tried and found guilt through due process and sentenced to death by hanging, he would not hesitate to sign the death warrant.
Realnews reports that Soludo is a frontline governorship aspirant in the November 23, election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA
During the  attack Emeka Ezenwanne, commissioner for Public Utilities, who is also an in-law to Soludo, was also kidnapped by the gunmen. He was later released.
According to Obiano, “What happened last month was unfortunate, but let me tell you, we have restrategised and we are coming out like a smoking gun.

“We are not going to take prisoners. The nine people that attacked Prof Soludo are in our net now. We are going to eliminate them. We will go after the others. We are not going to take prisoners any longer. A special squad has already been put together, and they are already working everywhere.”

He was surrounded by all the service heads in the State, including the Army, Police, Navy, Civil Defence and others.
