NNL: EFCC FC target promotion to NPFL, coach says

KABIRU Sani, Head Coach EFCC Football Club FC of Abuja, a Nigeria National League ( NNL) Club side says his team`s targets is to get promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL).
Sani told NAN on Monday in Abuja that winning the 2023/2024 NNL league was his main target in other to gain promotion to NPFL.
NAN reports that the club finished top of log in the Northern Conference group A1 and qualified for the Super 8, in the 2022/2023 abridged league season.
He said that his target this season is to win the league and gain promotion to the elite league.
“We are certain that this season we are going to achieve our set goal.
“Winning the league is achievable, we want to play in the NPFL and moved to continental level come next season.
“ I think we can do that and have put together some quality players that can make the difference at the end of the day.
“The performance of the team during the 2022/2023 was a testament to the fact that the club is on its way to achieve that,” he said.
He said the club has experience and quality players to play in the NPFL next season.
“Everything has been put in place to ensure that our players were comfortable and are willing to fight for the badge,” he said.
He said that the management has been very supportive to the club in terms of welfare, salaries and increase bonuses to motivate the players.
“The team didn’t participate in the NNL preseason because we want to concentrate more on our preparations, `he said.
He said that the club will abide by the rules and regulations guiding the league.
Sani said that the club is planning to establish a Female feeder team before the end of the season.
The coach urged the players to be disciplined both on and off the pitch.
“We want to bring premiership football back to the FCT this season and God will make it possible for us,“he said.
NAN reports that Oct. 28 has been proposed as the commencement date for the 2023/2024 abridged NNL season.(NAN)
