NNL: Insurance FC of Benin players undergo COVID-19 test

INSURANCE FC of Benin players and their coaching crew on Wednesday underwent COVID -19 test ahead of the resumption of the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the test was carried out on 40 players and coaching crew at the club`s camp on Commercial Road, Government Reserve Area, Benin.
The club’s spokesman, Kehinde Osagiede, told NAN that the test was made compulsory by the league governing body.
“It is part of the requirements that every club must carry out the COVID-19 test before being allowed to play in the league.
“That is exactly what we have done today and, by His grace, we are set for the league,” he said.
Osagiede said that the club had prepared well for the league and hoped that it would not be postponed.
Insurance FC is in Group B2 of the NNL with clubsides such as Abia Comets, Gateway FC, FC One Rocket, Crown FC and Bayelsa FC.
The Benin-based club will play its first match against Joy Cometh FC of Lagos on Feb. 20.
