NPAN mourns Raymond Dokpesi, commiserates with members of media immediate family

THE Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN, eulogizes Raymond Alero Dokpesi, who passed away on May 29, 2023.
In a statement signed by Kabiru A. Yusuf, who doubles as Nigeria Press Organization, NPAN President, on May 31, 2023, expressed shock over the demise of Raymond Dokpesi, founding Chairman of the media behemoth, Daar Communications Plc. who died at the age of 71.
It described Dokpesi as very unassuming, a seasoned politician, who acquitted himself with, PDP, and a philanthropist, who touched several lives, while also using the instrumentality of his media platform to give voice to the voiceless.
It lamented that the nation has lost a great pioneer, a patriot and an advocate of good governance in the person of Dokpesi.
Dokpesi, a trained Marine Engineer and Politician, pioneered Radio and Television Broadcasting in the country.
He established Ray Power Radio Station in 1994, Africa independent television, AIT, two years later.
