NPFL: Pillars beat Doma United 3-1 in Kano

KANO Pillars Football Club on Sunday beat visiting Doma United of Gombe 3-1 in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game in Kano.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Match Day 33 fixture was watched by a large number of spectators at the 16, 000 capacity Sani Abacha stadium, Kofar-Mata.

NAN reports that the home team took advantage of the massive support and dominated most parts of the encounter, there by converting scoring chances in the process.

Mustafa Ibrahim opened scoring in the 14th minute while Abubakar Babawo doubled the lead in the 19th minutes.

Musa Usman scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the 80th minute while Suleiman Idris scored the third goal in the added time.

The  only goal of the encounter in the 6th minute when he slot home a low cross from Babawo Muhammad to the admiration of the home fans.

Speaking after  the game, acting coach of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Garba expressed satisfaction with his players’ performance throughout the encounter.

He said the victory would boost his team’s morale towards making great impact in the remaining matches.

On his part, Bala Abubakar, coach of Doma United described the match as difficult.

“But we are going back to the drawing board to prepare for the remaining league matches,” he explained.

He also commended his team for their efforts and fighting spirit.

Kano Pillars now have 47 points from 33 matches and occupy ninth position in the table.(NAN)
