The Plateau United FC of Jos have expressed confidence of winning the ongoing 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Mr Abdu Maikaba, the Head Coach of the team, stated this in statement issued by Mr Albert Dakup, their Media Officer, on Sunday in Jos.
According to Dakup, Maikaba, who spoke shortly after their goaless draw with FC Infeanyi Uba in the NPFL Week 13 encounter on Sunday in Nnewi, Anambra, expressed optimism that his team will finish tops at the end of the season.
The statement said that the head coach explained that the season was still young for any team to lay claim to winning the league and expressed confidence that his boys would soon move out of their present position to the top half  of the table.
“I am satisfied with the performance of my boys today.
“Although we came here with the intention of  winning, but a number of factors, especially the hot weather affected my boys  which also forced  us to change our tactics during  the second half.
“I am very confident of my team’s chances of moving up the ladder.
“We will continue to work hard to realised our objectives at the end of the season,” Maikaba said, in the statement.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Lalong boys, who started the season on a shaky note, are presently occupying the 15th position on the league table with an outstanding game against Rivers United for Wednesday at the Jos international stadium. (NAN )
