THE Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Board and the 20 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs have scheduled their Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Tuesday.

Davidson Owumi, the NPL board’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), in a notice to all the clubs said the date would allow for a very effective organisation of season 2023/2024 activities.

The notice to the clubs also stated that the Draw Event for the 2023/2024 season would still hold on the same date as the AGM in Abuja.

The clubs were reminded that players registration which commenced earlier would still continue.

They were then advised to use the available window before the season kicked off to complete the documentation process for their squad.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this will be the first AGM between the clubs and the new NPL Board after their inauguration.

The Board, headed by Gbenga Elegbeleye, had last week set up a Technical Committee for the selection of NPFL Team of the Month and ultimately an All-star team.

The team will be going on a tour of Spain at the instance of a top LaLiga club, according to the NPL.

Elegbeleye, while inaugurating the nine-member committee, had said it could help the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have a nucleus of the next home-based Super Eagles side.

NAN reports that the home-based Super Eagles usually represent Nigeria in the African Nations Championship (CHAN).(NAN)
