MR Usman Alfadarai, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Lagos Command, has commended the personnel’s conduct during the Presidential and NASS elections on Feb. 25.
Alfadarai gave the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Saturday.
Alfadarai said the personnel of the command put in great sacrifice to meet NSCDC mandate, which ultimately was to protect the civil public and ensure safety of lives and property.
He said the personnel ensured safety of the electorate and that no infrastructure was destroyed throughout the election period.
The NSCDC Lagos boss further charged the personnel to do more and raise the bar of the corps in Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections slated for March 11.
He urged the officers and men of the command to redouble their efforts in giving selfless services to the nation as the 2023 World Civil Defence Day was being commemorated
According to Alfadarai, the personnel has contributed greatly to the nation’s peace keeping and infrastructure protection.
” The national critical assets of the country as well as rebuilding the confidence of the citizenry is upheld by the corps,” he said.
NAN reports that the 2023 theme of World Civil Defence Day, celebrated on March 1, is “The Role of Information Technology in Risk Assessment”.
He said criminality had gone beyond analogue, hence the role of information technology would not be ignored by NSCDC. (NAN)
