THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have resolved to partner in the fight against corruption and other social vices.

The resolution for the partnership was muted when Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye,  the Commandant, NSCDC, Ondo State Command,  paid a courtesy visit to the state Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Mr Kayode Kupolati, on Wednesday.

A statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Akure by the command’s spokesperson, DSC Aidamenbor Daniel, quotes

Ibiloye as saying  there was need for the two organisations to work together in the fight against corruption.

The commandant said that the agencies need to rid the state of criminality and all other forms of social vices.

The NSCDC boss also sought for collaboration with the commission in building capacity of its personnel in the areas of forensic auditing to investigate fraud and corruption to enhance their operational capabilities.

“We are poised to always provide security support and any other support needed in the fight against corruption,” Ibiloye said.

In his remarks, Kupolati assured the NSCDC commandant of the readiness of ICPC to collaborate with the command in capacity building and intelligence sharing.

“And one of the issues we are facing is that citizens are not reporting corruption cases as they ought to the commission,” Kupolati said. (NAN)
