NUC approves 4 courses for Fountain University

THE National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to the management of Fountain University, Osogbo in Osun, to run four of its courses with effect from 2020/2021 academic session.

The courses accredited are; Nursing Science, Environmental Health Science, Law, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health programmes.

Mr Toyeeb Olayinka, the institution’s Spokesperson, made this known in a statement on Friday in Osogbo.

Olayinka stated that other existing programmes that needed reaccreditation were also being worked on for reaccreditation by the NUC and other relevant professional bodies.

He said that Dr N.B Saliu, NUC Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the commission’s executive secretary, conveyed the programmes (courses) approval to the school management.

“The NUC Executive Secretary will like to congratulate the Fountain University for the accomplishment.

“The NUC panels of experts were satisfied with the human and material resources made available for the commencement of the programmes during the resource verification visit,” the approval letter read in parts.

The spokesperson said the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amidu Sanni, also commended the proprietor, staff and stakeholders of the university for putting all hands-on deck at ensuring the successful commencement of the approved programmes.

She added that efforts would be sustained to ensure that existing programmes due for reaccreditation were duly accredited not only by the NUC but other relevant professional bodies (NAN)
