THE All Progressives Congress has said the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party will meet to consider the recommended suspension of the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.

The National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said this on Sunday while responding to an inquiry on the recommendation by the Imo APC Caretaker Committee.

Okorocha is also the APC senatorial candidate for Imo West.

The governor has vowed to work for his son-in-law and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, Uche Nwosu, against the APC governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

This has drawn criticisms from the party which had warned members against anti-party activities.

Issa-Onilu said, “What happened in Imo State shows that the APC means business. When they bring the recommendation to the NWC, we will look at it.”

The APC spokesman said the party should be commended for promoting internal democracy.

“The party should be appreciated that it is possible to query a governor and recommend him for suspension. When we see the report, we will take necessary steps.” – Punch
