NYSC deploys corps members

NO fewer than 2017 corps members deployed to Anambra State have been redeployed to various communities in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking during the event, Uju Nwogu, the commissioner for Youth Entrepreneur and Sports Development, who represented the Governor Willie Obiano congratulated the corps members for successful completion of the first stage of their service year.
She enjoined them, “to approach the rural populace with enduring love’’.
Nwogu noted that the scheme was designed to inculcate team work and cooperation among them.
She advised them to lift the standard of living in some areas which include education, agriculture, as well as infrastructure development in rural areas.
The commissioner promised them conducive atmosphere and urged them to do their best, as government and stakeholders would appreciate them.
“The governor will honour those of you who, excel by offering them automatic employment,” Nwogu added.
Ebenezer Olawale, the state corps coordinator, urged the members to see themselves as vanguard of positive change and good ambassadors of the scheme.
He acknowledged the support of the state government toward the scheme and then, appealed for the speedy completion of ongoing work at the NYSC permanent site at Umuawulu/Mbaukwu.
Olawele also praised the Anglican Bishop Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo and the people of umunya.
No fewer than 63 corps members were posted to Oyi LGA.
On arrival at the secretariat at Nteje, Uchenna Okafor, the LG Transitional Committee chairman, who was represented by Obiagwu, the head of Education and Social Welfare, welcomed them to the area and urged them to break new grounds.
