Obanikoro, Orelope-Adefulire ,others eulogise late APC chieftain, Ajose

A former Minister of State for Defence, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro, has described Dr Sunny Ajose , late leader of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Badagry Division ,Lagos State ,as a selfless man who gave all to humanity.

Obanikoro spoke at a programme to celebrate the life and times of Ajose in Badagry on Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)reports the programme was held  at the Nigeria French Language Village in Ajara.

NAN reports  Ajose,also a  former  Lagos Head of Service  ,died on Jan.16 ,aged 79.

Obanikoro,who was  chairman of the  late APC chieftain’s burial planning committee , said Ajose was a core party man who did all for the growth of the party in Badagry and beyond.

The former minister said Ajose was a believer in fairness and a fighter for justice.

“He gave his life to commitment, dedication and service to humanity.

“The late politician was a proud man who always fight for the progress of Badagry Division,” ,Obanikoro ,a member of Governance Advisory Council(GAC)in the state ,said.

Also speaking ,Mrs Adejoke Orelope Adefulire,  Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ,said Ajose lived a very impactful and exemplary life.

According to her , the late APC chieftain touched many lives and empowered many people in Badagry

Orelope-Adefulire, who also served as Deputy-Governor of  the State during the  administration of Babatunde Fashola prayed for peaceful repose of the deceased’ s soul and God’s blessings and protection  for those he left behind.

Also paying tribute to the late party chieftain, Mr Setonji David,  Chief Whip, Lagos State House of Assembly and lawmaker, representing Badagry Constituency 2, described Ajose as a leader of leaders.

David said that the late chieftain contributed immensely to the development of Badagry.

He called on politicians in the area to be united and continue to promote the good and  interest of the town.

Also speaking at the well-attended programme,  Chairman, Badagry Local Government Area, Mr Olusegun Onilude, said politicians in the town should work hard to fill the vacuum created by Ajose’s death.

He urged elective office holders to learn from the contributions of the late politician to the development of  Badagry.

Mr Idowu Rasulu, the Chairman, Ojo Local Government Area, Lagos, said the former GAC member was a father and leader in the entire Badagry Division.

Mr Babatunde Hunpe, the immediate past lawmaker representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said the  vacuum left by Ajose’s death  would be very hard to fill.

Hunpe called on politicians in Badagry to unite in order to reproduce the great legacy of the deceased.

Ms Damilola James, Supervisor for Agriculture, Badagry-West LCDA ,said Ajose was an amazing man who encouraged a lot of young people to aspire for leadership.

Dr Oluseyi Sena-Oke, a medical practitioner from United States, from Apa Kingdom in Badagry ,described Ajose as a pillar of wisdom and man of God.

Sena-Oke said the late politician  loved his people dearly and prayed to God to protect  his family.

Reportsreports that State Chairman of APC in the state,Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi ,was among those present at the programme.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion  include Prince Sesi Whingan, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency in the House of Representatives and Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, the State Commissioner for Youths and social development.

Mr Ibrahim Layode, the  State Commissioner for Home Affairs;Mr Bonu Solomon, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency 1 in the State Assembly and  Mrs Ramotalahi Hassan, the Chairman, Ori- Ade LCDA, were also present. (NAN)
