THE presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over a boat mishap that claimed no fewer than 103 lives of the passengers on board.
Obi took to his tweeter handle on Wednesday, July 14, 2023, to express his feeling and sympathize with the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate boat accident, which occurred around 3:00 am on Monday 12, 2023.
‘’My heart goes out to the affected family,’’ said Obi.
The boat was said to be conveying about 250 people from Gboti village via Patigi after a wedding ceremony to Ebun village and Dzakan village, all within Patigi local government area of Kwara State.
It was confirmed by the Divisional Police Officer of Patigi Divisional Headquarters that a boat accident occurred around the River Niger Axis.
It was gathered that the collapse of the boat engine might have caused the capsizing of the boat.
