Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party, has visited Jennifer Efedi, a voter who was wounded by touts who tried to stop her from voting.

Realnews reports that Efedi returned to the polling units with a swollen plastered face with blood dripping from her face to cast her vote despite the trauma she has been through on that fateful day, February 25, that Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted presidential and National Assembly election.

Said Obi: “Today, I visited Mrs Jennifer Efedi.  She was attacked on 25 February in an attempt to stop her from voting. She stood her ground.

“Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria’s democracy. She is my point of contact with every Nigerian who  suffered similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights, and contribute to a new Nigeria.

“Like many Nigerians, I acknowledge her bravery & resoluteness. Jennifer is a true  manifestation of Profile in Courage for a new Nigeria.”
