THE people of Uli Town, Ihiala Local Government Area, LGA, trooped out in their numbers to welcome Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, flag-off, Igwe’s old Eke Ababa Road Construction in Uli.

Cyril Obi, the chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Ihiala LGA extolled the good works of the governor in the area.

He pledged that APGA in the area, would offer the total support of the people of his LGA during the upcoming, November 18 governorship election.

Dan Imochukwu, the president-general, Uli Town, thanked the governor for his commitment to his promise to the Uli people.

He pledged that Uli people at home and in The Diaspora would always be by his side.

He enjoined the governor to keep doing good, especially, in areas of regular and prompt payment of salaries and provision of security.

Law Chinwuba, commissioner for Works, assured that the road, construction of the four kilometres would last for only nine months.

He told the people that other roads, in the environs, like the Dr ABC Orjiakor Road would be completed at the same time.

The contractor handling the Uli girls, Onitsha-Owerri Expressway was directed by Obiano to commence work immediately.

He called on the Uli people to vote in Obiano on November 18 as a sign of gratitude for the positive work he had done for the area.

Obiano, while responding, thanked the people for their support to his government.

He informed them that his government would source electricity supply from Awada to their area, a project, he said, would be expected to benefit 35 communities including Uli.

COTAB Construction Ltd., the contractor handling the project told the people that he was delayed by rains in completing the project and gave completion time as December.

The member representing the area in the Anambra State House of Assembly thanked the governor on behalf of the community.

Dance groups entertained guests before the departure of the governor and his entourage.
