Obiano inspects road construction amidst jubilation by residents

Governor Willie Obiano has been extolled for good governance by residents of Ukpo Street, Fegge, Onitsha in Onitsha South Local Government Area as he inspects road construction there on February 27.

Obiano was overwhelmed by the warmth and enthusiasm expressed by the young and old in the area.

He re-assured the people of more good things to come, especially in improving the physical environments of communities in the area.

Obiano had urged the contractors handling the Ukpo Street road project to expedite action on the project before the coming of rains.

Obiano, who mobilised the contractors back to the various sites, had enjoined them to ensure the laying of asphalt state before the rains.

He was accompanied on the tour by APGA chieftains and government officials.

The contractor had also assured they would deliver on their mandate within the scheduled completion time.

Emeka Asoanya and Patrick Agha Mba, the transition committee chairmen for Onitsha, north and south were present.

Others are on the tour are Paddy Aniuno and  Ifeanyi Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche of Onitsha South Constituency 1 and 2 respectively.

Noel Udoji, Onitsha South APGA secretary, applauded the governor for the inspection of the job personally, which was an indication of his love for the residents.

Nduka Akubueze, a resident in Ukpo Street, and Matthias Okeke, his counterpart, expressed happiness over the road project.

While Akubeze prayed for God’s protection on his life for remembering them, Okeke re-assured him of their support.

He, then, pleaded with the governor to assist them to be reconnected to public power.
