TONY Nnachetta, Anambra State commissioner for Information and Communications Strategy, has described Governor Willie Obiano’s second term bid as necessary to consolidate on the work already started by him.
These include the Umueri Cargo Airport Project, waste conversion to energy and the N1Trillion Gross Domestic Product, GDP, he attained within its first tenure.
The commissioner said this during a radio programme on Thursday, November 2, entitled: “Obiano’s Score card’’.
He said: “The N20 Million Community Choose Your Projects Initiative’ and `The N10 million Choose Your Market Projects’, of the Obiano administration were classic responses to economic recession.
“They are not aimed at mere politics as being assumed by the opposition.’’
Nnachetta said the progress on Obiano’s score card would be continuous, even after the electioneering campaigns.
The “Alert Governor’’, appellation, which Obiano earned from workers, was derived from Ndi Anambra, who receive their salaries by the 25th of every month.
Nnachetta noted that the governor left a legacy by settling pension areas of between 17 and for 20 years arrears owned retirees.
He said that the governor had performed creditably, even when revenue was grossly reduced in comparison to previous administrations.
